Location selection of Mellat bank’s ATM kiosks by using maximal covering location allocation problem and genetic algorithm solution.
Abstract: Location selection of an economic activity, is one of the most important questions that an enterprise faces as far as this can be a determinant of the success or failure of firms. To date , many models have been developed to help decision makers, one of the most famous models in facility location allocation models is Maximal Covering Location Problem model. This model maximizes the population that has a facility within a maximum travel distance or time. In this study, the model proposed by Mariano and Serra (1998) as a maximal coverage problem with constraint in queue length is extended. We have changed the objective function by entering the amount of revenue and expenses so that in addition to maximum covering the demand, the amount of profit will be calculated and maximized. Finally, the proposed model is used to determine a suitable location for the establishment of Mellat bank’s ATM kiosks in 10 of the 30 candidate sites. To solve the model, a multi-objective genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) and MOEA Framework software is applied.
